Men Are Like Trains
©2014 Cynthia Emmets and Stefani Rose
I smoked a whole pack of cigarettes
Sitting starin’ at the dark
I finally heard his old truck
Grind its gears into park
He tripped as he stumbled in
It’s 5 am, I said where the hell you been
He didn’t even have the need to respond
I knew he was with that trashy blonde
Pre-Chorus Pointed to the truck, yelled just leave
That’s when he begged me baby Please Please, please (and I said)
Chorus
Men are like trains they’re always running
Behind everyone there’s another coming
If you lose your love well it don’t mean nothing
Cause men are like trains they’re always running
REPEAT CHORUS
My daddy came home once
Smellin’ of passion
Mama did not wait for his confession
She threw him out
He begged her please take me back
She said honey you been on the wrong track
You don’t get no second chance
I’ll go and find me a new romance
Pre-Chorus Mama backed her words with action
But she taught me a lifelong lesson (and she said)
Chorus
Chorus
Bridge I know you ain’t the last man on earth
And I know just what I’m worth
Don’t need no man cheatin’ and lyin’
What you’re sellin’ I ain’t buyin’ (And I said)
